There is no where to rest my eyes in Venice. Everywhere I look is beauty without description. I can’t believe I am here.

Milan to Venice
Navigating the maze of Milan to drop off the rental car, then lugging four people and luggage through Milan’s packed central train station left me wondering if it wouldn’t have made more sense to keep the car until Paris. Driving in Italy isn’t as scary as I thought it would be.
Navigating the train system is a whole new adventure. On this, the first train of our adventure, we all had seats away from each other. I’ll take that as a gift. Quiet, necessary separation that will give us new things to talk about.
Switzerland!
We left Germany this morning and on our drive to Murren I got messages on my phone welcoming me to Austria, Liechtenstein and Switzerland. Not a bad day at all. We had to park the car at the base of the mountain and take a tram and a train to get to our hotel. We are only at about 5500 feet, but it feels a lot higher than home. The mountains are so steep, with intense cliffs. There are waterfalls everywhere I look. We saw a lot of paragliders – that looked so fun. We even saw some guys getting ready to base jump – scary!! There are tons of cows and goats up here, I love hearing the cowbells all over. The mountainside is covered in wild flowers. The boys are in heaven.
